Intelligent design to optimize power and cooling infrastructure for planned expansions

GrowthPlan is a comprehensive evaluation of existing infrastructure in relation to planned growth projects. The service will provide recommendations on maximizing the efficiency of current infrastructure and determine what new equipment may be needed. The Growth Plan service allows you to grow in the most intelligent and cost effective manner.

Our general approach is to initially explore cost effective steps to maximize the efficiency of your existing cooling capacity. This may include blanking panels, containment, under floor baffles as well as other non-capital expenditures. The focus then switches to accomodating additional expansion from space, power and cooling perspectives. Remaining capacites are examined to determine if the existing infrastructure can effectively support the planned growth.

 

A comprehensive plan is created to most efficiently accomodate new hardware. The recommended solution will include cabinet deployment, rack-level power, power distribution, UPS power and cable management. If possible, the plan will utilize existing capacity using aisle containment, chimney ducts, AC cabinets or other proven approaches for efficient cooling. However, reality may dictate that additional cooling infrastructure may be required. Depending on the specifics of your site and preferences, this capacity may be additional perimeter CRAC units, with recommeded placement, or in-row solutions to provide close-coupled cooling at the rack.
