Cost effective, flexible solution for Hot and Cold aisle containment
Cool Shield vertical strip solution is a cost effective partition system to contain the air in cold aisles and/or hot aisles of a data center. The includes 12” wide anti-static, fire-resistant strips for the aisle entryway and/or from ceiling to top of cabinets. All components are pre-cut to size for ease of installation. For cold aisle containment, Cool Shield will keep the cool air from your perforated tiles at the front of the cabinets where it is needed. This can eliminate hot spots and provide higher cooling for dense server installations. For hot aisle containment, Cool Shield serves to prevent recirculation of hot air to the server intake at front of cabinets. Even if you don’t have hot spots, Cool Shield can be used to dramatically improve efficiency and reduce cooling costs by allowing for an increase in the set points of your CRAC units.
Cool Shield vertical strips are the most versitile on the market. Our proprietary mounting beam features threaded channels which can attach to drop ceiling grid, unistrut or just about anything. Alternatively, it can be used to build a frame supported by cabinet tops if attaching to ceiling is not possible. This configurabililty also allows it to be able to go around cable trays, pipes or other obstructions.
Fusible links can included in the mounting kit to comply with local fire regulations. In the event of a fire, the links separate allowing the strips to drop to the floor before sprinklers discharge.
