Retrofit Containment

Retrofit Containment

Aisle containment studies have consitently determined that energy savings of 15 - 40% can be realized by simply separating the air from hot aisle and cold aisle. There are several methods for introducing cold or hot aisle containment solutions to your existing server cabinet rows.

Vertical strips mounted either from ceiling or cabinet tops are the most cost effective and flexible solution. They can easily accomodate various cabinet heights, gaps, and row lengths. They can be mounted with fusible links to allow strips to fall out of the way before a fire suppression discharge.

Many customers prefer the look of removable ceiling panels which span between cabinet rows. They can active or passive panels. Active panels adjust to allow fire suppression to enter aisle. This approach is best used when cabinets and rows are of similar height and length.

Aisle doors are also an aesthetically superior option to vertical strips. This solution features a sliding door to allow entry into the aisle. Doors can have key, passcode or card swipe entry for additional security. Again, this approach best applied with rows of equal length.
